The African Burial Ground Essay

The Afican Burial Ground is a museum that has a lot of things about 17th 18th
centuris .The musum is about afrians people and how their masters treated them,how the slaves were killed.Outside the musum there are coffins that have about 419 people
under ground.If you went to the musum there will be a status of one young boy that was strangle and an old lady who was killed by her master.This status was made by Frank
Bender.

Also,there were symbols inside the musum that meant a lot of things .Forexample,
Akoma means "female cemetorry" guardian and a Sunkofa means "learn from the
past ".The Sunkofa symbol is outside next to the musum because the symbol is very
important.

The Afican Burial Ground project began in 1991 during excavation work for a new
federal office building. The GSA discovered more than 400 men,women,and
childern died hundreds of year ago .
